San Francisco mayor London Breed now faces a fourth major challenger to her reelection
Comedian Adam Corolla discusses how self-driving cars are causing chaos in San Francisco on'Jesse Watters Primetime.' A former interim mayor of San Francisco announced Tuesday he's running for his previous job, joining a competitive field of candidates who say the city has crumbled under the watch of Mayor London Breed, who is up for reelection this year. Mark Farrell served as interim mayor of San Francisco from January to July 2018, when Breed was elected to finish the term of Ed Lee, who died in office. The lawyer and former city supervisor said he had not planned to return to politics but feels he has the right skills to turn San Francisco around. "It is really painful to watch the city you love and you grew up in maligned across the globe," he said in an interview with The Associated Press.

AI Algorithms Kick up Levi's Revenue
Levi's uses AI in pricing and other areas to improve its revenue and boost margins. The data collection includes inventory and sales information from Levi's stores as well as some stores operated by other retailers, in addition to external data from public and private sources that track consumer buying patterns and behaviors, weather and climate forecasts, economic trends and more, the report states. Applying machine learning and automation to its data has helped Levi's increase its personalization of consumer marketing, make informed pricing decisions, predict demand and optimize fulfillment. Machine learning uses statistics and probability to recognize data patterns and make predictions. In addition to its eCommerce site, Levi's has its products in about 50,000 retail stores in more than 110 countries.

Artificial Intelligence: How Non-Tech Firms Can Benefit
Even though AI continues to thrive and grow, there remain challenges to use the technology. Just some include finding data scientists, determining the right problems to focus on, getting quality data and scaling the models. No doubt, these problems are even worse for non-tech companies. They generally do not have the expertise or sufficient resources to make AI a success. "Research shows non-tech companies in particular have struggled to take their AI programs beyond the proof of concept and pilot phases–with just 21% of retail, 17% of automotive, 6% of manufacturing, and 3% of energy companies successfully scaling their AI use cases," said Jerry Kurtz, who is the Executive Vice President of Insights and Data at Capgemini North America.

Digital transformation depends on diversity – TechCrunch
Across industries, businesses are now tech and data companies. The sooner they grasp and live that, the quicker they will meet their customer needs and expectations, create more business value and grow. It is increasingly important to reimagine business and use digital technologies to create new business processes, cultures, customer experiences and opportunities. One of the myths about digital transformation is that it's all about harnessing technology. To succeed, digital transformation inherently requires and relies on diversity.
